The Willin’ showcases the music of classic 1970’s rock n roll jam bands with authenticity seldom found on the music scene today. This band is not just another cover band, they do not play music to copy others or to play the music exactly as recorded. They play the music they love to express themselves in the tradition of great improvising bands. Their repertoire draws from The Allman Brothers, Traffic, Little Feat, Delaney and Bonnie, Eric Clapton and many more creating new versions of the music every time they perform just as these iconic musicians did before them.
This 4 piece band is a powerhouse featuring Josh Monfredini on Guitar and Vocals, Dan Jackson Stanton on Bass and Vocals, Alpha Lewis on Drums and Art Hafen on B3 and Trombone. Dig that!
All of these musicians have been on the music scene in the SF Bay for years and all are performing with multiple other bands. The name of the band was taken from the classic Lowell George song for sure but it means much more than that for this group of troubadours. The name cuts to the core of the bands goals- we are here to play, challenge ourselves to create on the spot, to have a great time listening to each other, to make new connections with our audience and to showcase the music of our hero’s in an authentic way.
